New Selle Italia SLR: the fourth generation of a true icon with racing DNA

Since its debut in 1999, the Selle Italia SLR has been a benchmark in the professional peloton. Now, the fourth generation of the SLR hits the market with a complete redesign focused on performance and efficiency, while preserving the essence that made it iconic among pros and demanding cyclists alike. A highly desirable product with a refreshed look for in-store display and multiple versions to suit different customer profiles.

Evolution in form, but staying true to its core

The new SLR retains the signature base shape that has made it instantly recognisable for over two decades, now with a more modern, aggressive and functional geometry. Its length has been reduced to 242 mm (compared to 248 mm in the previous generation), meeting UCI limits and maintaining the same width in size S (130 mm) and L (145 mm).

The essence of the SLR lies in its shape and the riding feel it delivers. From the third-generation SLR Boost to this new model, the experience remains consistent thanks to pressure map studies from idmatch that maintain the same support points to maximise comfort where it matters most.

The design has been refined to offer a cleaner profile that pairs perfectly with next-generation bikes. This new generation also includes versions with or without an enlarged central cut-out for perineal pressure relief.

New versions, new naming: clearer, more technical, easier to sell

Selle Italia has streamlined the range with a more intuitive naming system, grouping models based on key technical features such as rail and shell materials. This makes each model easier to explain and simplifies the sales process by helping customers identify the most suitable option for their needs.

The new SLR 2025 will be available in five main versions, each in sizes S3 and L3 (with central cut-out), and some also in S1 and L1 (without cut-out). The first releases include the Carbon models (available in both 3D printed and handmade padded variants) and the Elite model (currently only in 3D).

Full range coming soon

The rest of the range will follow later this summer and will be available on our B2B platform. This includes the Racing Replica, developed alongside professional riders and optimised to meet the demands of top-level racing. Also arriving is the most affordable version, offering exceptional value for money: the SLR Advan, featuring a new production process and lighter foam for improved weight and finish compared to the previous-generation SLR Boost TM.
