Goodyear Escape: the MTB tyre range evolves to cover the full Trail spectrum

The Goodyear Escape family evolves to meet the needs of an increasingly specialised MTB market. With the rise and hyper-specialisation of both traditional and electric mountain bikes, Trail tyre requirements are now broader and more demanding than ever. In response, Goodyear introduces a new generation of Escape tyres featuring a modular structure based on two tread patterns, two casings and three compounds. A total of 7 new references that allow professionals to offer tailored configurations for every type of bike, rider and intended use.

A range designed to cover all Trail needs

Modern Trail riding spans a wide variety of bikes, from lightweight downcountry models to long-travel e-MTBs. To meet this diversity, the new Escape range allows each tyre to be configured according to three key variables:

  • Tread pattern: Escape Inter or Escape Max
  • Casing: Trail Lite or Trail Plus
  • Compound: Dynamic UHP, Grip2 or Grip3

This modular approach enables specialist retailers to cover the entire Trail segment with a single product family, streamlining stock management while meeting real-world demand.

Two tread patterns: Escape Inter and Escape Max

  • Escape Inter is designed for faster, more rolling Trail use. Its 4/3 centre knob configuration ensures low rolling resistance with a smooth transition to the side knobs for cornering stability. Ideal for modern XC, downcountry, or rear setups on mixed-use e-MTBs.
  • Escape Max prioritises grip on loose and technical terrain, featuring a more aggressive 3/2/2 tread layout. Suited for front tyre setups on e-MTBs or Trail bikes with progressive geometry.

Two casings: performance or added protection

  • Trail Lite: a lightweight casing offering a good balance between flexibility, weight and protection. Suitable for general Trail use or bikes focused on climbing efficiency.
  • Trail Plus: a reinforced version providing extra puncture protection and pinch-flat resistance. The recommended option for e-MTBs or riders needing maximum durability.

Three compounds: speed, balance or maximum grip

  • Dynamic:UHP: the fastest and most durable compound. Aimed at bikes focused on climbing efficiency and long-range performance.
  • Dynamic:Grip2: the most versatile option, offering a balanced mix of grip, durability and rolling resistance.
  • Dynamic:Grip3: maximum cornering grip. Ideal for front wheel setups or riders seeking traction on aggressive terrain.

A range that meets the needs of today’s MTB and e-MTB market

With this new structure, Goodyear provides the professional channel with a versatile, high-performance tool designed to meet the growing demand across all Trail segments—especially in the fast-expanding e-MTB market. Escape tyres are now available on our B2B platform in 29x2.4” and 29x2.6” sizes, all in Tubeless Ready format.
